Something occurred to me recently. I just finished a bout with Strep Throat and, after reviewing the last couple of days, realized something. We are getting to be a society that cannot accept responsibility for ourselves.
Let me recap a bit because you may be confused. For those of you that have ever had a sick day (when you were actually sick and not just taking a day off), you know how it usually goes: soup, sleep and TV. That’s pretty much it. For those of you that know all about daytime TV, you know you have a few choices through the day. There are soap operas, game shows, infomercials, and …. judge advocate shows.
Back years ago, it used to just be “The People’s Court” with Judge Wapner. Now, there is:
- The People’s Court - Judge Marilyn Millian
- Judge Alex Ferrer
- Judge Joe Brown
- Judge Maria Lopez
- Judge Hatchet
- Judge Mathis
- Judge David Young
- Judge Judy
- Divorce Court
- Christina’s Court
10!!!! 10 court shows on through the day. Most on 2 channels just in are area (Fox 13 and the CW on 30.) How funny that people would air their dirty laundry on television. This doesn’t include the shows that have come and gone (anyone seen Moral Court?)
Now, don’t get me wrong, I think they are a lot of fun to watch. There are so many though. How bad is our society getting that we can’t figure out our problems on our own. Watching some of the people that go on these shows, you just hate to be of the same species as some of these idiots. What’s even more fun is to watch a mom sue her kids or a family torn apart because the parents sue a friend of one of their kids and the kids side with the friend instead of the family. People borrow money and then say, “I didn’t think I had to pay them back because I didn’t have any money.” “I know I promised to do something but I decided I didn’t want to.”
IDIOTS!!!!!
Anyway, some of these shows are fun to watch because idiots get their due but give me a break. Own up to your responsibilities. But then it wouldn’t make for good day time TV.
