Iran’s In Trouble…. Maybe….

August 31, 2006

Here is another example of the impotence of the UN and shows how totally useless it is to even have the UN. Let me break down the story a little.

It is speculated that Iran is enriching uranium for possible weapons manufacturing. We, the US, are up in arms about it. Why? Well, Iran hates us so giving them more weapons just isn’t a good idea. So, we rely on the UN to help step in to resolve this conflict.

The UN comes in and tells Iran “No” and actually has inspectors in Iran. Iran kicks out the inspectors, and basically thumbs their noses at the UN. The UN gives a deadline with some “incentives” if they comply. Iran ignores their request and basically doesn’t bat an eye. So, the UN response? “We’ll get back to you.”

In essence, the UN basically has no plans for a reprimand against Iran. Two of the permanent members will block anything they feel is “too harsh” against their friend AND another determining factor is the oil that comes out of Iran. So, how harsh will the world be against Iran especially with Russia and China backing Iran? Will Iran actually conform to the UN requests to halt their enrichment plans? Will they use oil as a leverage or become so arrogant in their endeavors that they figure that they are untouchable?

Death by Fluoride

August 4, 2006

I’ve been ridiculed in the past regarding my stance on a couple of different subjects because of wanting to have my will imposed on others. The most recent two items were to have the series “Daniel” cancelled and my views on stem cell research.

I was reprimanded by others because there is such a thing as “free will” and while my views were not unique, I had the opportunity to turn off the TV in the case of the series “Daniel” or that I should do more research into the benefits of stem cell research or to let those that wanted it to happen do as they please. So, to all of you that ridiculed me, I call you hypocrites. Why? Let me explain.

There were things that happened before my blogging days where, if I’d have had a blog, I’d have voiced my opinion as well. The subject I’m refering to is that of fluoride in the drinking water. I was opposed to it when it was happening because of the problems it could cause.

I was reminded of this because now the chemical company wants it used in food products as well. This time, its not being promoted as being “healthy” for people as it was when it was being added to drinking water. Now its being promoted to help as a preservative.

So, first of all, I would like to say that the use and especially overuse of fluoride will cause problems. This is not opinion, this is scientific fact. This is not ramblings from a “religious fanatic”, this is scientific fact. What I’m trying to say, is that for all of you that usually blow off my words as a fanatic, THIS IS SCIENTIFIC FACT. Too much fluoride can harm you, your family, your neighbors, everyone.

Second of all, I’ve been told about free will and the ability to decide by everyone when it deals with my opinions, but here I am without the choice of whether to take fluoride or not. Water flows out of my tap with fluoride already installed. No choice in the matter.

So you say that bottled water doesn’t have fluoride. Well, to you I say send me money, at least the difference between tap water and bottled water, and I’ll do that. Why should I, a tax paying citizen, not be able to use the water that comes out of my tap? Why should extras that I don’t want be added to the water that I drink, use in cooking, etc? Why shouldn’t all those that want fluoride in their water be required to add it to their own so the rest of us don’t need to put ourselves at risk.

Anyway, what sparked the renewed interest in fluoride is the e-mail about adding fluoride to the food supply as well as the dangerous levels within the water currently. Here is the e-mail. If you are of a sound mind, I would recommend that you sign the petition. If you aren’t, well, I guess you still have free will.
